TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc. Announces Strategic Appointments and Promotions Following Recent Acquisitions
Industry veterans designated to foster rapid growth of world class IT and network solutions provider in 2008.
CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc., a provider of information technology (IT) support and consulting services to federal, state and local markets and a wholly-owned subsidiary of TechTeam Global, Inc. (Nasdaq: TEAM), today announced three major appointments and promotions.
Gary Mears has been appointed Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this new role, Mears will be responsible for business development, sales operations, marketing and communications. He will report directly to TechTeam Government Solutions' President, Dennis J. Kelly, Jr.
Prior to joining TechTeam, Mears served as Vice President for Business Development at NewVectors LLC, which was acquired by TechTeam Government Solutions on June 1, 2007. Before joining Altarum (the former ultimate parent company to NewVectors LLC) in 2002, he was Vice President for Customer Services at Intersect Software, a venture capital-backed start-up corporation. Previously, Mears spent 15 years with Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS), eventually as Vice President of Supply Chain Integration for EDS's Government Services Group.
Paul Barboza has been promoted to Vice President - Federal Solutions Division. In this line management role, Barboza will be responsible for maintaining the quality of current services and integrating new services for customers of TechTeam's Federal Solutions Division. He will also report directly to Dennis J. Kelly, Jr.
Barboza joined TechTeam Government Solutions in June 1999 as Vice President of Business Development and was responsible for the development and acquisition of new business within the federal, state and local government markets. He was instrumental in winning the first GSA 70 Schedule task order awarded by a state or local government. Prior to joining TechTeam, Barboza worked at CTA Incorporated, where he established CTA as the leading provider of Year 2000 (Y2K) integration services to state and local markets, resulting in revenue of $18.5 million in its first full year of operation and $46 million during the second year. In addition, Barboza has worked as a software developer for Grumman Data Systems, SAIC and Sterling Systems Incorporated.
Jim Pietrocini has been appointed Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Pietrocini will be a senior member of the TechTeam business development team. Prior to joining TechTeam, Pietrocini was founder and CEO of R.L. Phillips, Inc., which was acquired by TechTeam on August 31, 2007. Pietrocini has 21 years of experience supporting the needs of both government and commercial customers with IT, C4I and information assurance consulting services. Before starting R.L. Phillips in 1998, he was Director of Federal Programs at TriTeal Corporation, a venture capital-backed start-up corporation. Pietrocini has also held senior management roles at Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Silicon Valley-based Athena Systems.
