TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc. Receives $1.5 million Contract from USDA
TechTeam Government Solutions to develop and deploy enhancements to the Agricultural Marketing Service's Market News portals.
CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc., a provider of information technology (IT) services to federal, state and local markets and a wholly-owned subsidiary of TechTeam Global, Inc. (Nasdaq: TEAM), announced today that its Sytel division has received a one-year contract valued at $1.5 million from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS).
The $1.8 million in contracts are for the design and development of AMS Poultry Market News, Dairy Market News and Cotton Market News portals. This work comes on the heels of TechTeam's requirements analysis and design and costing of the three new portals, which was awarded in July 2007. Prior to this contract award, TechTeam built portals for Fruit & Vegetable and Livestock & Grain Market News.
Under the contract, Sytel will be enhancing the existing AMS Market News portals, Fruit & Vegetable and Livestock & Grain. The award also includes requirements analysis, design and costing for the new Cotton, Dairy and Poultry portals. The Market News portals provide current reports on individual commodity harvests, pricing, movement and crossings, plus National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration agricultural weather information, news releases and conversion tools.
This work follows the completion of a successful project that identified enhancement requirements for Fruit & Vegetable and Livestock & Grain portal analysis, design and costing. Both this and the new task fall under a five- year agreement issued by AMS in December 2005.
